How Do We Empower Others?

"We all have a responsibility to succeed - in all areas of our lives.

When we have more, we can share more."

Let's answer this by making a couple of observations:

Firstly, on a personal level. Have you noticed that others' reactions to you are directly related to your attitude? For example, when you're in a good mood and smile at a stranger, that stranger will invariably smile back at you (give it a try...).

Similarly, when you're in a bad mood or feeling sorry for yourself, your negative energy tends to 'rub off' — you feel that 'everything is going wrong', and those you come into contact with just seem to 'have it in for you'.

So, by employing a positive attitude in your dealings with others, you will be passing on your positive energy, encouraging and uplifting them.

The resources contained on this site will assist you in developing your positive attitude, which will in turn form the beginning of a ripple effect within your circle of relationships

"It is better to give than to receive."

Secondly, on a global level. After much reading, personal experience and insight, we recognize the following:

  • Unlike us, a surprising percentage of the earth's population do not have the luxury of access to books, the internet and other motivational resources. — These people are more concerned about access to shelter and a loaf of bread!
  • Beggars can be choosers! Given the opportunity, just like us, many of these people are eager to improve their lifestyles.
  • The insights to life improvement that we have need to be delivered to these people in some way.

For the sake of the future of humankind and our planet, we have a social responsibility to participate in the fulfilment of all.

You may be in a situation where you do not wish to hear this right now, but here's the FACT: No matter what your current circumstances are, take comfort that there are millions who are far worse off than you at this time.

We further recognize that:

  • It does feel better to give than to receive. (Most of us have personally been on both sides of this equation.)
  • As noble as all charity programs are, we believe that those who promote self-sustainability within the lesser-privileged communities are assisting people to empower themselves.
  • As much as we would like, we don't all have the same talents, time or resources to be as actively involved in charity projects as others may be. This doesn't mean we cannot contribute. Most charities are self-funding and rely on donations.

"Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. Teach him to fish and he'll eat for the rest of his life."

Together we can make a difference...

Our Contribution

A percentage of revenue from this site will be shared with selected projects supported by universalgiving.org. We have selected Universal Giving-org as our charity link site for three reasons:

  1. They are a universal charity site, therefore our donations are not limited to any particular country or community.
  2. Universal Giving-org donate 100% of funds received to their supported charities and projects.
  3. They support a number of projects that promote self-sustainability. These are the projects we at Life is a Buffet will select from as our nominated charities. However, we will also be contributing to charities that support those who are not in a position to help themselves, such as the aged, children and animals.

Your Contribution

  • May you be encouraged and motivated towards your self-fulfilment by making use of what's available on this site.

If this site makes one small difference in your life, that will be your gift to us.
